On Saturday, November 5th, 2005, John Light and Phil Movish in their 710’s, joined five member trucks of the Rocky Mountain Moggers in the 13th attempt to climb Mt. Evans. The purpose of the trip was to brig Dr. Bob Stencil and a technician up the mountain to perform maintenance on the solar panels and batteries which power the instrumentation for Denver University’s Meyer-Womble Observatory located at 14,148 ft. elevation. As this was to be a prime weekend to observe Mars, the intent was to spend Saturday night at the observatory. However, due to deep drifts we could not not make it to the top and had to turn around and though it was a lot of work, everyone had a great time. The Mogs are amazing trucks, and the Pinzies held their own and demonstrated just how capable they are in extreme conditions.
